Floating Steps : CP-FTS(E)

Description

The Floating Steps for schools are a good addition to any activity trail or as a standalone feature in a playground setting. Small timber planks are suspended between two large upright timber poles using metal chains. A high rope has been placed to help with balance. It encourages children and young adults to test their physical coordination as the traverse along the steps. The steps are not set particularly high off the ground so they are not likely to exclude anyone from having a go. They also encourage team work as children and young adults can assist each other as they go along. For that extra bit of excitement why not challenge them to try it with their eyes closed! (along with a couple of careful helpers on either side to guide them and make sure nobody gets injured of course)

The timbers used are quarter sawn, pressure treated and impregnated with wax, providing a more repellent surface so reducing water absorption and delaying future rotting of the timber.

We also fit Postsaver sleeves at the ground line section of all timber posts that are extended into the ground. This will keep the cause of ground rot out and the preservative in, ensuring that the new piece of equipment will last for many years.

On areas of grass we suggest placing grass safety mats at key points around the product to help prevent ground erosion.
