Quick fix at Culzean Castle

Culzean Castle is a National Trust for Scotland visitor attraction perched on cliffs in Ayreshire, Scotland. Aside from the remarkable Robert Adam designed 18th century castle are stunning grounds with a superb play area for children.

We were approached by the trustees to help fix a problem at the play area. One of the access points on the play tower had become unsafe and they asked Caledonia Play for a solution that would not only enhance and add play value to the structure but one that would also last for many years to come.

Before
After

We created a bespoke rock climbing wall and secured it to the existing play structure and then made sure that it was in keeping with all the safety regulations for public play areas.

The Rock Climbing Wall is constructed using 18mm external plywood with a black ware surface supported by a timber frame.

The poly-resin rock climbing holds come in four colours: red, green, yellow and blue and each have a metal washer inserted.

Quality guaranteed

With the large amount of footfall that the adventure play at Culzean Castle area gets we knew it was important to do our usual high quaity job and to make sure it was done quickly so that the play did not stop.
