An award-winning approach to outdoor play

The philosophy underpinning our company is that children have the right to play in a safe but natural environment that can also be physically challenging and mentally stimulating. We are therefore always keen to learn more about the variety of different approaches to encouraging children to play outside whether in a domestic setting or as part of their formal education.

A recent ITV report has spotlighted an outdoor nursery in Norfolk thas been rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Their approach is that the children make their own toys – using real tools – under adult supervision.

“We give them the tools and resources to make what they want to play with as this encourages them to think creatively and more critically and it improves their problem-solving skills.”
