Caledonia Play are proud to sponsor The Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards 2017

We are proud to once again sponsor the Schools Award in the Scotland’s Finest Woods Awards 2017.

We value the work done in schools to work with the children in the outdoors and particularly value projects that involve the preservation of Scotland’s forests and woods.

As timber is a product that we work with to create our children’s play equipment, we understand the importance of preserving and regrowth in the timber industry.

The Scotland’s Finest Woods Award annual programme rewards and showcases all that is best in Scotland’s forests and woods. There are four award categories with nearly £7,000 of prize money and fabulous trophies. Do you have a wood you are involved with, own or manage that you consider is one of the finest in Scotland?

Caledonia Play are proud to sponsor the Schools Award by providing MagPosts to the winners.

There are also two cash awards of £500 and £250

Schools Award

Schools and pre-school projects can enter this ever-popular award. We seek out Scotland’s most fun-packed school woodland projects with prize money plus other prizes available to be won. Pupils, teachers and many helpers have great fun taking part!

Three further awards are:

Community Woodlands Award

Community-based projects compete for this Scotland-wide award with two competitions for both small and large community woodland groups so covering the full spectrum of community forestry in Scotland. The striking Tim Stead Trophy and prize money are up for grabs.

New Native Woods Award

New native woodland projects compete for this award: the unique Woodland Trust Scotland Trophy new in 2016 and a cash prize are available to be won.

Quality Timber Awards

Focusing on growing quality timber, woodland owners and their managers can compete in one of, or all, our three competitions with three magnificent trophies and prize money at stake: the competitions are for ‘newly-planted commercial woodland’, ‘single stands/small woods/compartments’ or ‘whole estates & larger multi-purpose forests or woodlands’.
