The aim of this Policy is to help us communicate our environmental commitment to our customers and employees and encourage them to support it. We aim to ensure that all wood used in our product ranges is sourced and supplied from sustainable managed woodlands.
Our managed sources carry FSC or PEFC certification, and all our products meet required European safety standards. We aim to minimise the environmental impact of our production processes through careful evaluation and monitoring to ensure that waste is minimised. Wherever possible we promote the efficient use of resources including water, electricity, and raw materials. We encourage our employees to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
In distributing our products we aim to minimise carbon emissions through the careful selection, purchase and use of appropriate Company vehicles. We aim to purchase recycled, recyclable or re-furbished products and materials where these alternatives are available, economical and suitable for our product range and office use.
We operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do by avoiding the unnecessary use of hazardous materials and products and taking all reasonable steps to protect human health and safety and the environment when such materials must be used, stored and disposed of.
In conjunction with our Health and Safety Policy, appropriate risk assessments are conducted, and we have developed, and strive to maintain, appropriate emergency programmes to minimise environmental hazards.
This Policy will be reviewed, and where necessary amended, from time to time to take account of our current and planned future activities.
